Where is the orange stick?

I am about to place my materials order and am wondering...where does one get this mysterious "orange stick" that is used with the botany cabinet? None of the manufacturers I normally use have mentioned the cabinet including a stick and none seen to have this "orange stick" sold separately. Do I just make one out of a coffee stirrer and put a dab of glue on the end with my glue gun?

  1. Never heard of the orange stick. What are you supposed to use it for??

  2. One of the main purposes of the geometric cabinet is to prepare the child for the shapes used in writing by tracing around the shape with their finger. One of the main purposes of the botany cabinet is to be a bridge to actual writing by tracing around slightly more complex shapes with an actual stick...the elusive "orange stick."

  3. That's so funny! It's a cuticle stick. They sell them at Montessori Services, or you can pick them up in a manicure pack :) I don't know why they call them orange sticks! I've also used a Popsicle stick in a pinch
