Both boys have been writing a lot of music for their violins and for the piano. Kal-El reminded me this week that I am sooo grateful that we homeschool when I saw him playing the following composition:
Did you see that title? Happy Days at Home. I was so tickled.
I keep staff paper stocked on the writing shelf for the boys. We ran out. Instead of telling me, Kal-El improvised and made his own. I printed out a whole bunch more from the Susan Paradis site. Me Too uses the "giant staff" and Kal-El uses the regular "staff paper for children."
I laminated one "example" page that we keep with the staff paper to help them put all the elements in the right place when they start a new piece.
