DIY Elementary Materials: Math

Have you ever made your own elementary math materials? Might you in the future? Have you or will you post about it? If you have in the past, or do in the future, please feel free to add yourself to the link list at the end of this post.

Please format the link title as follows (in the "name" box):

Name of the Material: Your blog Name

For example:

Fraction Circles: Montessori Is Not For the Weak

I have categorized the Elementary DIY collaboration according to AMI album titles.  If you are not sure where to put something, take your best guess.  Because AMI usually has a separate album for geometry I have done so here as well.

I thought it might be nice to collect some DIY links all in one place and do a bit of blog surfing at the same time.

The "Ultimate Montessori Homemade Materials Collaboration" button was created by my friend over at Walk Beside Me. (She also came up with the great name!). It can be copy and pasted. It would probably be helpful for other readers if you would add it to the end of any post you link here so that they can get back to the list easily. It could also be added to your sidebar and linked so that you can direct your readers to the great posts that all of you have written.

  1. Yay! Elementary level! I am so excited! Maybe it will encourage me to get the rest of the do-it-yourself posts up that I've started over the last few years ;)

    MBT - this is great!

I was sharing DIY tips with other moms who homeschool here in Singapore, for some of them find that Montessori materials can be a wee expensive to purchase and i'm always game for some DIY-ing myself so tadaah!

My blog is in its baby stages but after seeing soooo many sharings, i'm super inspired. Thanks to all who contributed! So many treasures in all your blogs!

By the way, i have subscribed to your blog! :)

  3. Hello to Buds Juices! I just found your comment today...don't know why I didn't see it sooner. I'm looking forward to peeking at your blog and adding it to our lists here.

I looked at your link and it is a primary math link and this is the elementary math section. I'll see what I can do about moving it over. Because there are primary AND elementary lists you have to double check when you add a link. Also, be sure to put a description of the material (number and counters for example) so people know what it is you made and will click on it.

  4. Hi there,

I see you have my blog on your list - that's nice of you. :-) I have recently moved all of my Montessori related items to a new blog to make it easier for those who are looking for help in that area. The new blog is:

I have a lot of upper elementary stuff as that seems harder to come by and many moms give up when they get to algebra and such! Blessings,
